Paul Bachelor:

How is the conference going? Are you having many positive responses from people?
The conference has been going very well. This is the third or fourth time we have been here. And yeah, responses have been good so far, especially on the national education method.

Do you sponsor the conference at all?
Indirectly. Yup.

Why do you sponsor the conference?
It’s a community type of thing. So what we do is we handle all the communications for the internet and all the wireless access and we provide all the products. We had all the engineers here for seven days before the conference actually started. We’ve also been working with Christs College and setting up all the internet protocols, configurations and everything else. It’s quite a lot of work.

How many years have you been coming to ULearn?
About six now.

How has ULearn changed over the years?
Everything is getting more technology focused. So this year there is a lot more on interactive whiteboards and there’s a lot to do with ipods. Everyone’s now got a laptop. Three or four years ago a few people had them, now everybody has one. And they all want wireless access. All this interacting between laptops, whiteboards and everything else.

Do you think Allied Telesis will continue to back to ULearn in the future?
Very much so, yes.

Melissa Fincham:

How is the conference going? Are you having many positive responses from people?
The conference has been going great so far. This is our third day here. We set up the pre-conference workshop rooms on Monday, Tuesday we were setting up the stand. Obviously today the conference has started. We’ve had lot’s of positive feedback on our little mini notes, our portable laptop. Schools are wanting to use them for the children and themselves. Really good feedback on that and on our touch- smart PC. So you can use your fingers to control what’s happening, rather than a keyboard. They’d probably be some of our more popular items.

Do you sponsor the conference at all?
Yes, we are one of the main three sponsors.

Why do you sponsor the conference?
HP has been a major sponsor of the conference since it first started in 2002. We keep on sponsoring it to continue our involvement in education with them.
